John Shadforth and Robert Dickson, more than 400 Australian students from across Australia have been hosted at the foundation’s Encouragement House in Maliana, East Timor. They have forged long lasting friendships with Timorese students and an enduring love for the country.
The students enjoyed learning experiences that promote self – awareness, communication, engagement and social responsibility.
Some have revisited Maliana and all say what a memorable experience they enjoyed.

For older students, the Encouragement Foundation is delighted to partner with the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC)on their “I Encourage You Initiative.” Led by USC High Performance student athletes, the aim is to share and celebrate encouragement with the university community and surrounding regions.
The initiative combines student athlete personal letters with resources from the Encouragement Foundation. USC High Performance athletes have experienced firsthand the benefits of encouragement and were excited to pass them on.
